This Disaster Risk Information Platform (DRIP) is a compilation of risk information that serves to inform local decision for the Parish of St. Catherine. The DRIP will serve as a tool to identify, analyze and disseminate lessons learnt, good practices, technologies and tools for disaster risk reduction. DRIP is an integrated geo-risk information portal, and should become a one-stop shop to access risk- and risk assessment-related information for the parish. The primary target audience are representatives from various organizations with the mandate of providing critical risk information necessary to this information platform as well as disaster risk reduction practitioners, local community users, governments, educational institutions and many different NGO organizations.

Goals & Objectives

The DRIP aims to promote sustainable development by reducing the impact of natural hazards in high-risk areas. Its specific objectives are to improve disaster risk information and understanding and to increase their use in decision-making processes. With the mission of providing better risk information for sound decision making’, DRIP will generate evidence-based risk information and facilitate its applications to improve the quality of policies, regulations and investments at all levels in the parish.
